Title: Heating element problems
Post by: jaeger on December 27, 2005, 06:45:23 PM
Hi everyone!
Hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas!

Got a problem with the BS. I was going to double smoke a honey glazed ham on Saturday. I turned on the BS and the light for the heating element was on, after checking a short time later it was not on and the heat was not rising.
We checked everything out and it seems the heating element is at fault. My question is, does the light on the slider go out when the heating element is broke? Everything else seems to be getting electricity.

my heat element no heat was doa... no heat... no glow... no nothing...

the light on the generator and slider were both on... no heat... the lady at bs said the element had to be working for the slider light to be on...

they sent me a new slider... once again with the new slider the light on the generator and slider were both on... no heat... the lady at bs said she didnt think it was the heat element but sent one anyway...

replaced the heat element... got heat... got glow... got a spare slider... and no problems since...

more later...
