Title: The Thingamabob That Holds the Whatchamacallit
Post by: oakville smoker on November 14, 2011, 12:51:51 PM
Ok, now that I have your attention !

I got my new element from Bradley and I am a happy boy now
ALMOST
During the process of removing the old element, the ceramic piece that seats against the element broke

Does anyone know if this is a generic part I might be able to get from an electrical supply store or do I have  to use the OE one from Bradley
Any help would be appreciated.

getting ready for the first rib throw down here in a couple of weeks and I need my Bradley working
My opponent ( golf buddy ) has been maintaining that ribs should be boiled and baked at which suggestion I howl
I obvioulsy maintain the need for low and slow and of course smoke

i have challenged him to a throw down
No sauces.  Straight up ribs and a panel of judges hand picked by myself of course

Ask your neighbor if He's making pork stock and if that's the reason he boils them. No worries on the
Little throwdown.

Your ribs will win hands down,,,,,,,,,,,,I've had ribs cooked his way and there aint no flavor compared to the way your gonna cook em.

You will need to use OEM parts,,,,,,,,,,,,its kinda a special made thingamabob

Like Habs and Curt said..  Yard and Pool have always given me quick service.  You will have your part in quick time, and as for the throw-down, you will win that one hands down.  Be sure to give us the pics and after comments.

I'm putting my $ on oakville smoker!

Boiling ribs should be a felony, like driving 20mph under the speed limit!

Gotta agree with everyone. Yard and Pool is the best and boiling ribs??? Just as well make pork soup!!! They shoot folks up here that mention boiling and smoking in the same sentence.  :o  ;D You got it in the bag oakville.  ;)

Just ordered the part from Bradley
The only killer is the part is $4 and the shipping will be $20.  yes I ordered spares
I think the only guys getting rich off the internet are Fed Ex and the insane shipping charges these days

My buddy does not stand a chance with his boiled ribs / pork soup
Funny....  there is chicken soup.....   beef whatever soup ...   never ever heard of a pork soup  LOL
I feel sorry for this guy...  he has no idea what he is in for and the hand picked by myself esteemed panel of judges, they know from boiled ribs and low and slow ribs

Funny thing is there seems to be a shortage of back ribs these days, at least at  Costco.  Last 2 weeks there is a better chance of not finding any in the store than finding some.  Lots of sides but no backs

Good Luck Oakville Smoker!  The last time I was in a rib throwdown, both challengers and the hand picked judges (of which I was one) got so sloshed drinking beer that they forgot what they were there for and just had a really fun day.

I cannot imagine that booze could be invoved in an event like this !
booze on Grey Cup Sunday  ( the Canadian version of the Super Bowl )
Ribs....   probably some pulled pork as feeding 20 people ribs is an expensive proposition
maybe I can use the booze part to my advantage, kind of an influence thing  LOL

the prepping will be starting sooner than later
