Here's the aftermath of the "Great Flood of 2011"
First pic is looking south into Nebraska from the Missouri River boat ramp at Lake Manawa, the shelter at the left was originally between the flag and the house. Next three are of houses that are next to the river, between it and the levee, you can see how high the river got and some of the silt that was left when it finally receeded. They're on Gifford Road here in Council Bluffs and were evacuated within the first week of the "Event".

That brings back bad memories. I hope everybody came through safely!

I haven't heard if anyone will be moving back into that area.
I know I wouldn't, just not worth the headache.

I herd the state or the core wont let anyone rebuild if there within 200 yd of the levee
What a shame, sure hope them folks are doin OK, sure makes a mess of their homes and lives...
Makes you wonder how many big catfish is in them basements just hanging out
Makes me think that the problems I have in life aren't as bad as those peoples devistation they have had to endure. I feel for their loss and those whithin the rest of the area. Good luck to all!!!
