Title: Bad boy brisket
Post by: SiFumar on November 21, 2011, 04:12:24 PM
Younger son and his gf came out for the week and wanted brisket.  So picked this bad boy up.  Was bigger than I wanted, but didn't want just a flat.

Wow that sure looks good.

I see the label says to refrigerate leftovers immediately or "discard". If you decide to discard any of it let me know and I will right over.

Up here in Canada we call beans vegetables as they are one of the major food groups. I got a kick out of your govt. calling a pizza a vegetable. I guess we all eat healthy. Thats a great looking brisket all I get up here is 3 lbers. I am dying to try one that way.  Thks Piker

Thanks for the nice comments...I was just a bit intimidated by the size...but just went for it.  I was a little aggravated by the price....10 days ago when I looked at them they were $1.87lb.  So I don't feel to bad now seeing what y'all pay.
As I was slicing up the rest last night, my son walks in the kitchen and says,"What ya doing, going to feed an Army?"  I give him the "Mom look"...he busts out laughing and says "Oh yeah you are lol"  He works at an Army post(he's a civilian contractor) and invited 6 soldiers to come up for Thanksgiving....they arrive this morning.  Sammies will hit the spot I'm sure!

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Piker, where abouts are you? If you live near Hamilton Ontario, I can point you to a supermarket that carries 7-8lb briskets....

Brisket is my favorite thing to do in the OBS.  Beans are enough veggie for me.
