Title: math brains
Post by: viper125 on November 22, 2011, 01:35:55 PM
Well how can a guy figure how big of a btu or watt heater he needs to maintain 250 degrees? I'm thinking of heating 200 Sq. ft.  I know a turkey fryer should be able to and may be more. But there should be a way to calculate thus. It's a wood structure and wondering about insulating it also. Just some things running thru my mind.

Viper, it is more then just sq ft, it is the total volume of load, while the bigger the are the less wattage per cu ft is less, some where on the net is a load calculator that with measurements will give you  the wattage demand you  are  looking  for.

Good luck

Viper

In addition to what BeefMan said another factor is if the cabinet is insulated or not and how well.

I guess I don't know if you are referring to a cabinet or not.
