Title: Quality of Old Bisquettes
Post by: DoxinMan on November 22, 2011, 02:23:28 PM
Hi I have package of pecan bisquettes that I opened 4 years ago.  I have 8 biquesttes left in that package and the plastic is still wrapped around them although they have been exposed to the air.  Can I still use these?

Thanks

I am curious on why you think you would not be able to.

I would say yes unless the were in a very moist place and absorbed a bunch of moisture.

They should be alright unless they are swollen. If they are swollen due to moisture, then don't use them, they can jam up.

On the other hand, I've never had any that old, so I don't know if the binder that holds the chips together deteriorates over time. Once you remove them, if the fall apart, then we will have an idea of the shelf life.
