Title: Pistachios... From The Land Of Milk & Honey & Nuts
Post by: owrstrich on December 30, 2005, 10:01:02 PM
its either the barn... wooly wooly... or make a list of nutters to visit when we return to the central valley... all these folks are the growers... wholesalers... retailers... and have 25lbers ready...

im thinking if you called them you could get a giant bag of giant pistachios at a good price...

this one is certified organic and $99.95 for 25lbs..

i have been to this store... big nuts here...
http://www.aacalpistachios.com/products.htm

looks interesting... 16 to 18 nuts per oz are the colossalest...

25lb flavoured pistachios + almonds... walnuts... macadamias...

these prices include tax and ups shipping...

im gonna be in the land of the colossal pistacio next weekend...

i was gonna pick up a couple 25lb packs for personal use...

if 19 of you losers want 4@ 25lb packs... i can ask for a deal on a ton and have them to you by the weekend after next... i was told to show up with $4k and i could have a ton... thats $2 a pound for 18 count colossals...

before i commit to anything here i was wanting a head count of who would be willing to participate in the great bradley pistacio smoke out... then i can figure out our best cash no paperwork deal on the quantity  and you losers can paypal me and i will get them in the mail straightaway...

your thoughts...

Owrstrich,

I'm good for being one of the 19 losers... :D

I'd take 4 x 25lb @ $2/lb. My wife has a PayPal account. Let me know...

I'm not clear about your e-mail. Are you saying that each of us have to buy a minimum of (4) 25lb bags?

Or can we just purchase (1) 25lb bag?

what im saying is i was told that if i showed up with cash and did a cash no paperwork deal i could walk away with a ton of the colossals for $2 a pound... i would then box them up and send them out on my own... so it would be $2 per pound plus the box and the shipping which would be about $225 for 100lbs of californias most colossal pistacios...

i was thinking if 20 folks took 100lb each... that would be a ton... and i would only have to send out 19@ 100lb boxes (im keeping one)... which im wiling to do to get the deal...

my goal is to get backing for a ton to get the deal... if its 25lb here and 25lb here its just more boxing and shipping and thats ok too...

if we cant get to a ton i will see what kinda deal we can get on the total quanity acumulated here and then let you know the deal...

also these folks will send 25lb boxes for approx $100 to $120 total...

the timeline is take hypothetical orders till saturday morning... then take that quantity to the man and figure out the deal on saturday... report back here on saturday... take firm orders on sunday and monday... cop the goods tuesday and send them out on tuedsay... cause im out of there on wednesady... you can paypal me upon firm order or after you get the goods...

im still not sure about shipping to canada... i dont know what the deal is there...

thats the plan...

your thoughts...

Owrstrich

I would be in for $100 for about 25lbs, maybe.  I have a hard time swallowing that for Pistachios I have not had before. 50lbs, sure.

that is my basis.  If you can get a deal in between there then I am willing to work with you.  Sorry, I am cheap at times.

Hey owrstrich--sorry to be so late to get in on this . . . too much work . . . I'm in for 100 lb. at $2 per lb. + shipping.  Looks like you're still a bit short, however  :(

Looks like you might have 4-500 lbs.  Would you be able to get a deal on a 1/4 ton (like $3/lb)?  I'd still go for that, or we could wait until you're back in the area again . . .

jjc and others...

i have a friend who lives in bakersfield who is helping with this... bakersfield to modesto seems to be nut country... pistacios are down by bakersfield to delano... almonds and walnuts are up by tulare to modesto... im no expert but thats my understanding...

anyway... i have talked on the phone to several sources and have visited a few sources... what we have right now now are last years leftovers... it was suggested that since im coming back in september that i should wait and get the fresh stuff and most importantly when its in greater supply...

i have 2 more place to go to in the hanford area tomorrow... i will let you folks know whats up tomorrow night...

you gotta eat...
