Stupid question - do I use raw almonds or roasted ?

Roasted/Salted is what I use.   The 'Wonderful' brand from Sam's Club, Walgreens, etc..

Raw almonds can also be used, but you need to roast them after applying the smoke. That can be either done in the smoker or oven. The oven is quicker, but you need to monitor them or they will burn.
