Title: New to the fourm and smoke bbq
Post by: sprocket74 on December 25, 2011, 12:47:00 PM
Hi
Sprocket here from British Columbia Canada, I just got a Bradley smoker for Christmas and I am looking for tips on using it. The only issue I have had do far is getting the temp up to 220f with meat in the smoker.

Welcome aboard.

As for that heat issue. Make sure your vent on top is open at least half way. You want all that moisture in there to drift up and out along with the smoke as it leaves the cabinet.

Welcome

I am also from BC in Prince George, you can not find a better forum for information and great people.  Just start reading the post and and asking questions.

It is hard to keep the temps up, with our cold weather, some build houses for there smokers, some add another heater inside.

welcome to the fourn,

as for getting the temp up, that  will depend on meat load, the higher the meat load the longer it  will take to  reach 220f, also keep the vent 1/2 open all the time
