Trying to get my wifes amish recipe will be like asking a chicken for a $20

Here is a link to a recipe that is almost the same as the one my wifes grandmother gave her when we were married 54 years ago, our two sons would sooner have this then a good steak...
and if there is ever any left over which is very rare. we fry it up the next morning with some scrambled eggs... makes a great breakfast too...

Thanks for the link Ghost...

After I phoned a friend I got some ideas (I always take ideas from a few recipes and call them my own  8))

I simmered he following ingredients until the chicken was done.  I pulled the chicken from the stock and let cool then shred the meat from the bone.
4 Chicken Thighs
2 Chicken Legs
2 Cans Chicken Broth
2 cans of water

I then added 2 cans cream of chicken to the stock and salt and pepper to taste.  I like my stock a little thicker (almost like gravy) so I mixed together 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 1/4 cup of water then whisk this mixture into the stock.

For the dumplings I used 1 package of bisquick.  Once the stock was to the consistency that I like I spooned in the dumpling mixture and added the shredded chicken back in.  Once the dumplings were ready (not doughy) I plated and sided with smashed tators....  This was awesome!  I never made chicken and dumplings before because I always get scared off by making dough or baking, but the bisquick really made it dummy proof.  I think this made it on the wife's top 10 list.... hahha
