Hello! Kelly from Ohio here! I'm looking forward to being an active part of this forum...I can see that I'm going to quickly make this my new culinary addiction!
I bought the Bradley 4 rack digital smoker for my boyfriend for Christmas...(okay...so I actually bought it for both of us...) We tried it out today with fantastic results. I'm hooked. Much easier then the propane smoker we've been using, and I can't wait to try cold smoking some cheese and sausages.
I have a little bit of formal culinary training and a lifetime of kitchen experiments behind me...I'm not afraid to try some unusual combinations and 99% of the time its edible! lol I'm not much for measuring ingredients unless I'm baking or working in the shop making soaps and etc. :) So pardon me if I post recipies in the "little bit of this and a pinch of that" style!
Other then that...I'm a busy chic! My passion is cooking, I'm a full time Office Manager for a busy holster manufacturing company, a Commander for a military police unit, and I own my own online boutique featuring natural & handmade bath & body and home fragrance items. When I'm not crisscrossing the state for all of that I'm enjoying what little free time I get with Paul and our two dogs, Fenster the boxer-pit mix and Bella our rescued golden retriever - chow mix. Being so busy I'm definately all about big flavor in little time....but I love the satisfaction of an all day smoke or slow -roast when we get the time!
Yet another woman!!! Yeah...Hoorah...ArmyChic...worry not...these guys are the nicest group you can ever ask for help...and they do know their stuff...me? I am kinda like you...chops in my own house but my husband and I have learned a lot from this site!!
Welcome!!!
Thanks! It definately seems like a friendly bunch around here! :D
Congratulations on your purchase for Paul and welcome to the forum...Enjoy!

Armychic, what part of Ohio??
SouthernSmoked - I'm in Northeast Ohio, about 30 minutes south of Cleveland.
Welcome to the nut house! Now that you got a great smoker lets get you hooked on infrared cooking and finish in the Bradley!
Infrared being the Char Broil SRG.. Just ask if you don't know
Welcome from Alaska! Thanks for your service. Enjoy that new Bradley!

Welcome!! You are gonna be amazed what you can learn from this place!! Alotta fun to! Sorry about those Browns!
Welcome I'm also in Northeast Ohio. im from Salem so you should be pretty close. You have joined a great site with all the help and recipes you could want. But about the measuring. If you work with cures making meats I would suggest being real careful measuring amount of cure to lbs of meat. Now the other spices ok. But cure can be dangerous in large amounts. Look forward to pics we love food pics! Rule around here is no pics, didn't happen, LOL
Welcome Kelly. New myself and looking forward in reading other experience and tips on smoking...
Welcome to the forum Kelly - you sure are busy. Congrats to you and Paul on a great purchase - you'll love the DBS and you can't beat the folks on this forum for great info.
hello and welcome to the forum
Hello and welcome to a really great forum...
hi Kelly and welcome to the forum. Hmmm, hickory smoked soap and some mesquite fragrance? Maybe a cherry smoke aroma for those things that plug into the wall outlet? ;D ;D
Thanks for the welcome all!
TMB- I've heard great things about infrared but I haven't had an opp to check it out...I'm sure it'll make my to-do list soon!
mwilliams - lucky for me the only part of the Browns games I've ever enjoyed is the tailgating! :) I'll be sure to pass on the condolances to Paul ;)
Viper - thanks for the heads up on the cures. I haven't done that yet, I'll definately make sure to watch it on those. I'm in Brunswick so you are about an 1.5 hrs away. We spend quite a bit of time in stark county area though.
Arnie - Don't tempt me! I could likely make it happen! Lol
