Title: Has anyone tried Muebe Nuggets with chicken or turkey?
Post by: steve-o on January 24, 2012, 01:45:20 PM
My girlfriend doesnt eat mammals, so I was going to make some turkey or chicken jerky for her. But I remember on a road trip a while back her having a bag of 'Jack Links Chicken Nuggets' and was curious if anyone has tried making nuggets before. If so would dark or white meat be better, and would the cure #1 be the same as it it would be for beef?
Thanks

I've made chicken/turkey jerky, I used the same ratios as with beef.

Dark meat contains more blood in it than white meat so it will most likely take longer to dry.  I agree with FLBR, the cure content would be the same as beef.
