Title: Newbie getting ready to jump in - the OBS or New OBS?
Post by: kiddtmac on February 19, 2012, 07:00:48 PM
Been checking you guys (gals?) out for the past few weeks and am ready to get my 1st Bradley. I've been smoking for awhile and thinking of making the jump to the Bradley cause the 16 hours it takes to drink while watching a brisket and a few butts sit on my grill is taking a toll on me!
So I'm thinking the 4 rack original, but the new original also just came out. Anyone have any upside or downside on either? I love the smoke-detail on the door, and can imagine it would be fun to pose for pics with this cheech and chong style, but with the mods I read about on here which I plan on putting on either one I get, not sure if anyone thinks the new one has some must-have features.

Thanks and glad to be aboard!

If you get a good enough deal, I would go with the original OBS

Welcome to the asylum, hope you brought a white coat to wear.
You can't go wrong with either one.

welcome aboard, both are good units, I would recommend if you  do not already  have

1) maverick ET-732 wireless thermometer
2) PID temperature controller
3) bear claws for doing  pulled pork

good luck and again  welcome aboard
