Post by: OU812 on February 21, 2012, 07:51:34 AM
Melted 1 stick of butter and mixed in 1 Tbl GP  then grabbed a small chicken an injected it with half the mixture and brushed the other half on the bird.

Let that baby sit out at room temp wile the smoker warms up to 250 F

After 2 hr of Apple.

Then threw in the oven set at 350 F.

Ran outta propane in the smokin shed and didnt feel like diggin the grill out of the snow.

I havent used my grill sense I got TBE

About an hr later we got this.

Ditto? Does the gunpowder have a pretty powerful flavor? 1 tbsp doesnt seem like alot on a big bird like that

Don, did you have any of the tri-tips at the last MWSO?  They all were rubbed with gunnpowder...   As was one of the briskets. (the other had Zach's brisket rub on it)   Pretty sure some of the ribs had gunpowder on them as well.

I didnt want to over power the flavor of the chicken.  ;D

Heck it was only a 5 1/2 lb bird and I just inject the breast.

The dark meat gets used on other things, like the shepards pie I'm makin right now.  :o
