so today my 5 pound sausage stuffer showed up. which reminded me I had not seen my order placed by lem. ( I ordered the stuffer off a different website as I was able to get the stuffer and whole sausage kit for the same price lem wanted for the stuffer alone). anyways the hold up was the snack stick stainless stuffer the 606 witch is the 3/8" ID, 1 9/16" base is on back order till April? i was hoping to find one online but cant seem to locate one. so my question is can you make your own stuffer or what else would work for a 17-19mm casing? was really hoping to not have to Waite a few months to give it a shot..

Hybrid,
be sure and verify size (dimensions) of tube, even though LEM advertises on site that the tube will fit 17 mm casings it doesn't. when mine arrived it turned out to be nearly 1/2 inch OD (0.4875"). After I called them they tried to tell me that their product met the strictest quality controls, but I had to inform them that I had seen better work come out of an eighth grade auto mechanic class. Yea, I'm bitter but dog-gone-it if you list a product then you need to stand by it. Oh, and customer service lady tried to tell me that LEM doesn't make a tube for 17 mm casing. When I tried to explain that in big bold type it is listed specifically for 17 mm casings on their web site, she hung up on me.... go figure. If it were me I'ld contact Pikeman_95 and see if he would build you one with the base that you need.

Hey MTfiddler, you forgot to mention that big old paper sticker they stick on the stuffer tube that takes a half hour to scrub off before you can use it ;D Lems 17 MM casings will fit on my tube but you have to unravel the Collagen casings to get them on the tube which is a pain. I do think Lem sells quality stuffers.
I would like to find something for my LEM 1112 that can do 17mm. The 19mm tube is on backorder...
If some one would test and tell me exactly what sized tube will fit into these 17mm casings give it to me in fractional inches if you could. I have access to some different sized tubing that have a thin wall design. They will have the least amount of resistance to pushing meat through then I also would need to know the size of flange that fits on the stuffer.
Right on... And good info about that tube, dose not sound like something i want anymore...
I am at work right now but could check the flange size when I get home... I ordered a bunch of 17mm casings but do not have them on hand to measure tube size... Maybe someone that does can... And if you were able to make one for the LEM 5 pounder I would deff. Take one..
A photo of the Lem stuffer tube flange would help.

I will post one tommorrow if someone doesn't do it today....
with the flange base off lem website work or do you need exact off one
if not the one on lem website is
"3/8" Stainless Steel stuffing tube for our 5 lb vertical stuffer. Has a 1 9/16" base"
this is what they claim will do 17mm
Here are some assorted stuffer tubes.
First off the ID of 17mm coiled casing will not fit on a 5 lb lem tube. Meaning the full length will not fit, However it will fit if you pull it from the coiled length and slide it on the tube.
Uncoiled 17mm casing on the LEM 5 lb tube which is 1/2 OD

Here on left are 2 tubes Kirby made for the KC. The entire coiled length will fit on the tubes 3/8 and 7/16 OD

SS Tubes are LEM and BJT 12" Tube both are 1/2 OD

Here is the ID of the coiled 17mm casing.

Casing is sitting on the LEM tube
(http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab242/nepas1/2012%20sausage/IMG_1068.jpg)
Here is the LEM 5 lb tube and the coiled 17mm casing. If you force the coiled full length on the tube you will score the inside of the casing and have cuts in the casing which will blow out.. Trust me on that.

SO
The LEM tube is 1/2 OD and 7/16 ID and the casing will not fit while coiled in 1 50 ft length. Uncoil and it will fit.
Hope this has helped some.
Here is the washer of the tube that was made for me. The LEM 5 lb tube is the same size.

i got my 7/16" stuffer tube for my 5lb lem from
smokeandstuff.com/index.php/categories/5-lb-stuffer-acessories
haven't used it yet, but it fit the 19mm collagen casing i had quite easily, didn't have
17mm casing to try, maybe email them and they could tell you
thanks for posting all this pics and taking the time to so so..
also thanks for the link to smokes and stuff.. I see they have teh smaller tube but I wonder why the mark up LEM wanted 12$ for there stuffing tube. they want 32$ , but if they have them and it saves a 2 month wait....

I forgot to snap a pic of the 1112 flange last night. I'll do it tonight.
are there any other pictures needed? for seeing about making one of these bad boys?
This is from my LEM 1112.

It's 2 1/8"
The LEM 19mm tube is on backorder.
If anyone can make something for 19mm and 17mm casings, I would be more than happy to pay for them.

I have the stainless 7/16 tube I just need to find the stainless flange material and I can silver solder them together. If I am correct you will need a 2 1/8 inch flange on your stuffer?
Kirby.
It looks like rick needs his flange to be 1 1/2 inch
Kirby
I am in for one for the 5 pound LEM stuffer as well( same one Rick posted)....

I found some stainless fender washers that I can drill out to 7/16 ID and silver solder them to the 7/16 thin walled tube that I have. I would use the washers to make the flange. The stainless washers are 2 inches OD and you say your flange is 2 +1/8 inches. Will having a1/16 difference all around the edge make a difference. I am going to guess it will still work for you. It is not possible to just get any size of washers that you want. You just have to settle for what you get when it comes to stainless. I also found some washers that are 1 1/2 inches OD that I can also silver solder to the tubes. I also have some 3/8 stainless thin walled stainless tube that I could make for stuffeing 13MM casings. If anyone is interested in these let me know.
Kirby
I will deff take the 1.5" flange, on the tube that will stuff 17mm casings... let me know how much and where to send payment ect.
thank you
I will send you a PM and we can discuss this.
Kirby
thanks ill look for it
