Title: Whose Postal Service Is Better?
Post by: JZ on February 29, 2012, 11:31:29 PM
When I order something from Lee Valley, who has an outlet in BC, the stuff is shipped from Ontario (the other side of the country) and if I am lucky it will get here in a week or 2.

I ordered a PID from Auber and tracked the shipment. It left Alpharetta GA on the 21st then went to Atlanta and now it is in Miami. From what I can see on Mapquest that is the wrong direction. LOL  ;D ;D ;D

Has to do with where the shipping company has hubs.  All packages must go thru a hub.  I sent a small letter package via DHL from San Francisco to Palo Alto (just across SF Bay from Palo Alto) and it went to Atlanta overnight and made it to Palo Alto the next morning.  Talk about wasting petrol!!!

True. They send the items to hubs/processing centers that take stuff out to airport or big rigs destined to take shipments to other processing centers or post offices (if is USPS)
