Title: Auber PID auto tune question
Post by: krazzzyb on March 02, 2012, 09:35:06 AM
I have skimmed a lot of threads about auto tuning, but there is one question I cant find the answer to.  I know that you start at room temp, loaded with meat, but what I don't know is if you are suppose to be running the smoke generator or not when you are auto tuning.  The instructions mention that if it takes a long time to bring down the temp, it will take a long time to auto tune, I know that smoke generator generates heat on its own, will that stop it from ever finishing?

Run the auto tune at whatever way you would normally use the smoker.  Put a couple of bricks on the racks to simulate a load of meat.
