Title: BBQ Guru and Power Raptor on Ebay!
Post by: BBQ Bob Trudnak on January 31, 2006, 01:31:27 PM
Hello folks,
I am BBQ Bob from The BBQ Guru, Inc. I thougtht I would mention that I have a refurbished Competitor control and Power Raptor on Ebay up for auction. It is over later today and somebody may get a great deal. The Control is refurbished and the Power Raptor and probes are brand new. This package has the same 90 day warranty that our new ones have. Anyway, thought I would let you guys know about the deal. p.s. If any of you ever have any questions about our products, feel fre to email or call. Just type in bbq guru on an ebay search

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum,

Yes, I happened to notice this on ebay yesterday, unfortunately I am on the wrong continent for it to be of use to me![:(]

But thanks for the post and letting BS owners know about it, hopefully someone from your side of the pond will snap it up.

Manxman.

Hi Bob!

Thanks for the alert. I love my Procom4 and Raptor combo, but started with the Guru Raptor before the Procom4 release. Both units are so easy to use, and for we non-techies, much easier than building something to control the smoker without burning the house down with mistakes in wiring up something to control the smoker. Best plug and play toy I have purchased!

Say hello to Shotgun Fred for me!

Did anyone see what price this sold for? I didn't see the post until today, and the item is no longer listed on eBay...

I believe the Competitor and Raptor sold for $128.50. I bid $125, but got outbid. You can check on what all four of them went for by searching for bbq guru and then doing search on completed items. I already have mine, but would have picked it up to resell for profit. It is a good unit and does what it promises.

Hey thanks. I had forgotten you have to check something to be able to see completed transactions.

I would have been tempted to get that puppy. The homebrewed pids look nice, but I don't want a gazillion wires running everywhere and I'm leary of tackling such a project without "complete instructions". And some of the controllers I see on this forum look like they sell for over $150 - just for the controller.

Thanks again for the eBay tip!

I might take you up on that offer. I'm cautiously getting more nerve to try a PID setup myself. Bubbagump's setup looks ideal, it's just the cost of a reliable, name-brand controller that's holding me back. [:D]
