Title: Top Hinge Repair.
Post by: Pike227 on March 23, 2012, 07:39:10 PM
Although I don't have my Bradley here right now, as I recall the top hinge pin sticks up into a seat in the plastic top front cap of the door.  This plastic seat has partially broken.  Is there an upgraded repair out there for this, short of replacing the whole top cap?  Has anyone pulled both hinge pins out all together and just screwed on a couple of good metal hinges on the outside?

I have seen a thread before where someone did exactly that and they were happy with the results. I may do the same to mine when the hinge breaks.

How about a wide piano hinge?

I don't know of anyone on here who has done that but if you do be sure and post some pics.  Sounds interesting and I don't see why it wouldn't work.
