Title: How about quick desert?
Post by: Drac on March 25, 2012, 01:30:43 PM
Hi all,

Local Ren Fair begins in a couple weeks here and I thought about bringing some fried pies (it's a southern thing) for the tailgate party.  Looked them up and I came across this quick and dirty recipe.  Uses canned pie filling and flacky canned biscuits -

Roll out into 5-6" circle -

Just happen to have big dumpling maker the right size, 5".  A small amount of pie filling (next time I'll use less) and moisten the edges -

Into the oil -

?

Those in the frying pic are tennis shoes.

The powdered sugar will come when they are served.  As for flavors, when I make them up in a couple weeks for the tailgate I plan to do up some apple as well as peach, blue berry and cherry.  Anything that comes in a can.
