Last year found a local farmer that raised a breed of ¾ Duroc and ¼ Berkshire hogs. Purchased about 10 lbs of bellies. At that time he said he wasn't going to sell to the public anymore but would let me know if he changes that policy. Then the tornadoes hit last April, lost power for 5 days and all my bacon.
A few weeks ago he called and let me know he had some for sale.
Today I picked up 20 lbs of belly, a rack of spare ribs, and a butt. The butt was expensive at $3.80 /lb, but the belly and ribs were only $3.00 /lb. Decent price for the quality.
Here they are. Put one in the refrigerator to defrost and the rest in the freezer.
