After my recent experience taking the skin off of pork bellies, I decide to get myself a skinning knife. Did so, and it arrived today thanks to Amazon Prime. I saw the picture when I was ordering, but that did not prepare me for the wicked implement of destruction I saw when I opened the box. All I can say is, COOL!

Yup, a skinning knife is a real help with bellies. I've got this one (http://hausschlachtebedarf.de/fleischereibedarf/messer-und-staehle/f-dick-messer/dick---abhaeutemesser---gebogen---18-cm---steif.php).
Many years back Manxman recommended a particular brand of skinning knife. I couldn't find it in this country so I purchased the same type that 3rensho has, but mine doesn't have a blue handle. :(
Also someone posted a video showing how to skin a belly. As you know skinning belly is straight forward, but this method had one tip that I will use in the future. He started in the corner, skinned the belly about 3-inches, then made a hole in the skin so that he could insert a finger for a better grasp.
nice looking knife - got a link to it on Amazon?
