Title: Fan mod?
Post by: Simon1969 on May 01, 2012, 02:38:35 AM
I have been searching the UK trying to find a suitable 240v fan and motor and came across these- http://tinyurl.com/bqfj4ed (i shortened the link)

Has anyone tried to fit anything like it or can you see any problems in fitting?

I know I may have to reduce the size of the fan to fit it but it comes with its own housing that I could sink in to the rear of the BDS and it has its own cooling fan built in.

Simon, don't know why it wouldn't work. It's a range fan, so it should handle the heat from the smoker. If mounted in the back of the cabinet the max. fan dia. is 2" (50.8 mm) between the "V" tray and bottom rack. Let us know how it works.

Thanks I was out there taking measurements this morning. I may have to purchase a small fan to fit on it as I don't think I will be able to reduce the size of the fan it comes with by that amount.
