Hi everyone I'm am looking to find out how to calculate cook time for like two or more 15lbs briskets, and or 2 or 3 pork butts. If you cook brisket 11/2 hour per pound what would it be for two witch would be about 30lbs of meat. Thanks Chris :)
Well, first you cook them based on the internal temp, not a specific time. I cook briskets to 190*F.
If you want to estimate how long it might take, a 15 lb brisket would take 22.5 hours at 1.5 hours per lb. Maybe slightly less if you were cooking just one but with two of them the 1.5 hour/lb estimate might be closer to what you end up with.
If you are doing all that at one time, give yourself plentttttty of time!

What he said.
I have done 3 butts before in a 6 rack digital and it took around 20 hours. Don't know how much time you will have to add with the briskets. Like the rest have said, give yourself plenty of time or do them seperatley. You can reheat them with some apple juice later in a crock pot.
Thanks guys I'm gonna just start the night before, and if stuff gets done I'll just wrap it in foil and keep it hot in a cooler. It's a big party 2=10lbs briskets and 4 - 8lbs butts it will be a long night. I'm smoking a 18lbs brisket as we speak been on sense 2:30 am this morning trying my new digital control i made for my smoker thanks to Mr walleye and his ideas. I'll post pics later. Thanks Chris
Very important for you to stay hydrated while smoking,I recommend plenty of the Captain,to keep your spirits up,lol.
My friend from Nova Scotia speaks the truth. Proper hydration is critical in any outdoor activity! 8)
