Title: Lifespan of Heating Element
Post by: czartman on May 13, 2012, 01:15:27 PM
What is a reasonable life expectancy for a BDS heating element?  It appears that I will be replacing mine again. Original lasted about 15 months with light to moderate use. Same with the replacement. Is that normal?

I bought my smoker in 2006 and although I have added a 2nd element to it, it still has the original element in it and works fine. Bradley did go through a supplier problem with elements a while back.

I have never changed an element in 6 years.

Not quite that old here. But it's 3 years no problems. Lots of time on it.

Thanks for the responses! I guess the bad news is that my replacement must have come out of the "bad" batch as well. Guess I'll be ordering another...
