My wife wanted to see the balloons take off from Helen, GA this past fri/sat but the bad weather kept them down.
Got some sightseeing in though.
Stopped at a roadside flea mkt. They were selling bbq sauce.

Doesn't look like a wasted trip. Looks like it was still a nice time!
Now that is one big dude at that cooker....
Love me some boiled peanuts.. Used to be an ol dude at carters lake in North Georgia that sold them on side of the road.. Tasty...
Nice pics and cool trip - thanks for sharing.

Yes ditto on that Gary!
Guy lives up to the name ;)
That Mill and Millpond brings back some beautiful memories from where I grew up in Tennessee. The best cornbread I have ever had was made from stone ground cornmeal done at a mill like that. Great pic's.

Really? I tried some once and thought it was a terrible waste of peanuts. Maybe I just got some bad ones.
Looks like a good time Rick.

I made a lot of boot prints in the national forest myself.
Like you i gave it up when they started manicuring the service roads, and stopped all camping beside the streams.
I really enjoyed fresh trout and scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Yeppers. Do not mean to hijack this thread but I noticed that you are from North GA. Where? I was born in Miami, went to High School in Elberton, GA and now live in NW FL.
Sorry for the Hijack rick.
The next time you get up this way give me a shout, if time allows we might could get a BBQ sandwich at Poole's.
We can even get your pic by the hill of fame :)

Nice trip, Rick. You do have a knack for finding all kinds of goodies to try later. Can't wait to see what you do next.
