Title: Montreal Smoked Meat
Post by: smokin stu on March 21, 2006, 02:02:03 PM
I have searched this forum and have seen some talk, but has anyone got a Montreal Smoked Meat recipe?  Something close is good enough as I will take up the challenge to get it right.  A restaurant near me that used to serve up the best Reuben sandwich no longer does....  menu change....

A Reuben is the closest thing to food porn as you can get if it's done right.[:p]

I've been meaning to do this recipe, but forgot about it. It looks like a variety of pastrami and I like pastrami (as long as it is not made form corned beef[:D]) The Canadian FoodNetwork website has it posted. The previous link has been moved here is the new link http://www.foodtv.ca/recipes/recipedetails.aspx?dishid=5915

The same recipe is also found on this site, in case FoodNetwork: Canada, moves there page again. http://www.recipezaar.com/112308

Thanks for the recipes.  I will try them out as soon as I can.  I am thinking I will need to adjust the recipe for the BS.  Once I get it right, I will post it.

Couldn't help notice the recipe called for bacon which I would imagine is not how Swartz's, Dunn's or Chenoy's cooks it up.[;)]

Any other recipes out there?
