Title: Inexpensive pork
Post by: shrolfe on September 13, 2012, 10:54:02 AM
I do not know about the rest of the country, but in Arizona the grocery stores have been selling value packs of pork chops for 1.30-1.50 per LB.

Typically pork butt sells for 1.80-2.00 per LB. The chops are mixed, usually there are some good, meaty chops that we set aside for grilling. The rest I trim off the bone and use for sausage. The bones we boil down into pork stock.

That's a great hint!  It takes no amount of time to compare pricing.
