While we were standing on the roof and the shuttle was landing on the runway :o
COOL!
I here tell that takes a GOOD pilot to fly piggy back,,,,,,,,due to the extra wings and tail fin
Rick there were about 4,000 people watching it fly by at Ave N and Sierra Hwy.
I actually got to see the Shuttle up close years back. Was working at Boeing when the security guard heard my comment about how cool it was that the shuttle was there. He asked me if I wanted to look at it and I said hell yes! He took me on his golf cart to the special hangar where they worked on it. The front nose was removed. He explained to me how they had pre-built a new nose that had all updated electronics before it arrived. They were in the middle of slapping the new nose on. Of course I was not allowed to take any pictures and I don't think my cell phone at the time even had a camera. I don't think there were any that had cameras come to think of it ;)
Anytime I worked there I was always escorted by a security guard and never alone ;)
Awesome!
