I am entering my hot water boiler that heats my building (office) in a contest. It is 38 years old and very inefficient and needs to be replaced. I have to submit a photo (of the boiler not me ;D) and three reason why I want to replace it.
Creativity and originality counts, so be as descriptive as possible. E.g. my boiler is older than my grandma; my utility bills are higher than my lease payments; or my boiler is so big that the building was built around it.
5 finalist will be selected and then put on there website for the public to vote.
first prize is $2500.00 second prize is $500.00 and third prize is $300.00
I am interest to see what this creativity, crazy group can come up with.

My Boiler is so old, I remember hearing my Grandpa tell stories about carrying water from the creek, in a wooden bucket to fill it! He even had to walk uphill both ways to do That!!
1/20
My boiler is so expensive, I had to mortgage my neighbours house to pay the bill for it.
I have a history with working on steam boilers at work. I wrote this Boiler poem for you. I never said I could write poems but here is my best shot ;D
My pipes are older and I'm ready for new
My diaper is dripping
Please respect my antique blue...
I once was the best
Money could buy
Now I'm feeling like a thorn
In my owners side.
Won't you please consider me
As a candidate for replacement as
I've huffed and I've puffed
My whole life through, only asking
That I might be replaced with something Brand New.

"My boiler is so inefficient that I have to fill it with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water."
"My broiler is so inefficient that I have to boil the water to make it work"

We cant fix it so lets just chuck it.
Can't think of too many more clean things that rhyme with "chuck it " !

*It's covered in mold

My boiler is so old and inefficient when it runs the outside temperature increases
back in the day when boilers were mobile and really had to work. Much like on this big boy locomotive

I could not resist sharing this with you guys. A friend of mine owns this steam tractor and they keep at the Fort Missoula museum. Every 4th they fire it up and saw wood for the projects around the fort. It is so fun to watch. This is how they did it in the old days. It is a 45 hp steam tractor.

That is so cool. I have been watching youtube vid's of sawmills lately. I also keep looking for an Alaskan sawmill. My dad owns a little peice of land by the river here where he built his houseboat. But our float needs new deck boards and I don't want to buy them. We get logs floating in all the time so I want to mills some.
I thought some like enjoy this. It is fun watching them run the machine.
Some of my buddies in the boiler room at the house. ;D
