Title: Big Easy Question
Post by: crapshooter on October 22, 2012, 09:33:57 AM
Are there two types of Big Easy cookers? All I find around here say Big Easy infrared turkey fryer.

There are several versions - see them all on their website here (http://www.charbroil.com/smokers-fryers/outdoor-fryers.html?SID=f2n8cjee941olqicmtkjadjvu3).  I'd go for the Smoker Roaster & Grill (Model 12101550) - it's the most versatile of the lot.

cannot go wrong with the SRG. I had the same question when I was looking to purchase mine and I just went with everyone else had. One of the best decision I made in adding to my arsenal.

Does everyone use the propane unit or has anyone tried the electric?

I have the propane. Someone here does use the electric. Can't remember who though.

I have the electric. It is more of a low and slow cooker than the SRG. It doesn't even come with a grill but I've heard someone, probably TMB, proved you can grill with it. Also the electric is a lot smaller.
