Looks interesting. I've never had boiled peanuts either. Were the nuts raw when you put them in the slow cooker?

These we got in a 5 lb bag at Sams. They were pre seasoned and boild. I just tossed em in the slow cooker to heat up thru the day and eat right from the slow cooker to the bowl.

You eat them like a normal salted peanut. I like to suck the shell and get the salty cajun water, sorta like a mud bug......EH

Down here in the markets you can buy green (raw) peanuts and boil them the way you choose

Down here in the south. We buy the Peanut Patch brand in the cans. Cajun and original flavor, just put in the crock pot to warm. Fantastic, we buy them from Sams, Walmart, most grocery stores. Almost all convenience stores sell them by the cup from serve yourself crock pots. Google the Peanut Patch to find them in your area.

For fresh peanuts and for seasoning to your own taste, buy raw green peanuts and boil them in heavily salted water in a turkey fryer or other large pot until tender. Add other seasoning to taste.

Yup.  You can do em any way ya want, but when I was growing up, folks just put em in a big (heavily) salted pot of boiling water on the stove.
No secret this or that.  Just salted boiling water.

Those are some jumbo peanuts.  Sure miss boiled peanuts.  We don`t have them in Colorado.  I have to make them myself.  Look good.
