Title: Quick Help Please
Post by: RedJada on December 01, 2012, 01:22:18 PM
Smoking for the first time with the Bradley. I have some BB in there now for about 45min. I am using the Maverick 732 wireless thermometer placed just inside the top vent. Cant get over 212, heat turned up all the way and top vent wide open? So my question is, where should the BBQ temp probe be placed inside the tower? I moved it to the middle of the tower now and reading 223. But still full heat and vent wide open. Where do you hang/dangle you heat temp probe?

You want to hang it at the same level(the base) of whatever you're smoking, but making sure not to touch anything like the rack etc. that will give you a false reading of the actual temp.

Thanks Sal, I moved it to the middle of the top two racks where the meats at. Not touching anything. Maintaining 228, full heat vent wide open. I'm sure its just a learning curve. But looking forward to getting the pid. Thanks again for your help.

I put mine below the lowest rack being used being careful that nothing drips on the probe.
