So Im in the store gettin stuff for dinner and see a friend of a friend and we chat a bit and she says she was just at my DIL store gettin her phone all set up and the bugs worked out.
Then we say our good buys and move on. Just a few minutes later my phone rings and by now my arms are full of stuff, you know guys dont carry a basket when shoppin for just a few things. It was my son and he says "You want a deer?"
Turns out his wife just hit a deer with her bran new car and he was on his way to check it out.
I says sure, let me pay for things and Ill call ya back.
By the time I get rolling and call him back hes there along with the sheriff. I ask were did she hit it? He says just out side of town, which was only about a mile from were I was, perfect.
I pull up and by then there was cops every were. I check the car out and make sure my DIL was OK. She was fine, just shookin up a bit and kinda cryin. I told her to just get back in the car and we will handle every thing.
Got every thing set with the cops and me and the sheriff go find the deer, it was still kickin so he says "cover your ears and turn around I have to kill it" I kinda chuckled and stepped back
Now I have to fill out papper work for a road kill tag so I can take it home, theres another 20 min
Throw the deer in the truck, get home, bundle up, its like 9F out there, head out to the shop to gut it. Its hangin now and will be frozen solid by morning. Took longer to do the papper work than it did to gut and hang the deer.
Any how that was the most fun I had all day ;D
Looks like tonights dinner plans are a scratch and its left overs,,,,,,again

It was 3F this morning and warmed up all the way to 19F this afternoon

She kept sayin "I didnt even see it"
Then I pointed to a deer crossing sign that was about 50 feet in front of us and said
"That is what this sign is for" ;D

I hit a deer out in the AZ desert about 10 at night. who would of thunk there were deers out in the middle of no where! (AND no deer crossing signs either) It definitely is an awful experience.
