Title: stiffeners for foodsaver bags
Post by: MikeST on February 13, 2013, 04:18:27 AM
Any ideas for stiffener "Cards" for foodsaver bags?
Especially for lox.
Id like to have some sort of backing card to keep the bag from scrunching up so much.
Make it look better.
I had thought of freezer paper, but its too thin

How about something like this.

I have re-used those styrofoam trays that meat is usually packed in.  Obviously clean and sanatize very well, but the shorter height ones fit perfect inside the sealer bags.  You can lay out your product on the trays to keep them organized and protected.  Just slide it in the bag and seal it up.

Put the fish in your freezer for about 30-45 minutes first then vacuum seal it

Cut cheap paper plates to fit in the bag. Works great
