What about using Seemore's Blazin' Pistachio recipe?  You would probably have to adjust the overall time in the smoker since the sunflower seeds are thinner than the pistachio.

Just thinking out loud Sonny.

I did find this but have not tryed it.

Ingredients
3 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon chipotle pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 1/2 cups nuts
Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter or oil, honey, sugar and all the seasonings. Make sure that any lumps of cayenne or cinnamon are broken down and stirred into the mix. The end result is a thick, sticky seasoning mixture. Add nuts and stir thoroughly to coat.
Place nuts on fine cheese cloth in a single layer.  Smoke for 20 to 25 minutes.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Sunflower seeds are kinda cheap and I got 3 lbs to play with.

I might try a couple different combinations using the vac tumbler.

Was thinking about a light wood, ie: cherry or apple the fist time for

maybe 40 to 60 minutes of smoke then dry till done.

That sounds like a good plan Sonny.
