Took the Judge's class today and am now a certified judge. They also offered the table captain's class so I stayed around for that also.
Someday after I get enough competition judging under my belt I'll apply for Master judge. To do that I also need to participate as part of a cooking team in a KCBS sanctioned competition. So if anyone is on a team the plans in participating in the Alabama area (or Tenn.) and could use an extra hand in one of their comps, let me know.
Congrats Gus.
You are the Man, I mean Judge.

As a Master Certified Judge myself; I do congratulate you. Although there is a "natural" tension between judges and cooks; cooks love to see Master Judges. For them it is a sign that you are serious about judging. There are more then enough teams that will take you on so you can get your cook in. As you judge the competitions you will get a chance to talk with the teams; of course after judging. Also other judges and Reps, can give you more information on who is the best teams to approach. Try to get your cook in early; that way during judging you will have a better idea of what the teams have to go through to turn in those boxes.
I love seeing those blue badges; less chance for me to be picked as a table captain. ;D
