Title: The All New Bradley Bread Proofer (BBPS108P)
Post by: classicrockgriller on February 27, 2013, 05:12:50 PM
Any Bread baker would love to have a proofer. I looked at several and at $2500 to
$3500 they were out of my price range. I tried to find one on Craig's List but usually
the electronics didn't work.

Then it dawn on me I had access to one at a reasonable price.

The Bradley Bread Proofer (This has ONLY been used to proof bread)

I use it to renew my starter

I have also used it as a warming oven to hold food when company comes over.

I LOVE my Bradley Bread Proofer.

Very innovative thinking Sonny!

A good dehydrator will work as well.

What a great idea!  I was even thinking of using my dehydrator since I can program the temp.(since I don't have an extra Bradley laying around.   ;D

Nice job Sonny!

Dang it took a minute, as my grandson would say, for you to post that... ::)

My Digital Bradley got a lot of use this past summer as a warmer.

PS: Need some starter!!

Before I decided on the 6 rack Bradley for my proofer I had

thought about getting a 40 qt Coleman Thermoelectric Cooler

with a 110 adapter and using my PID to maintain the temps.

The Auber can be used with any cooler for proofing. I drilled a very small hole in the top of a Coleman Cooler to center the heat source and suspended a small 25 watt bulb. Works like a champ.
Did not have to run autotune or anything, so it can go right back to the Bradley when needed.

Hi all,
Although I am a newbie to Bradley Smokers, I have been making bread for years.
I have bought the Bradley 4 shelf digital smoker to use as a proofer. This was a fantastic idea!
I was wondering if it would be ok (from the manufacturers point of view) to use the smoker indoors as a proofer only.

I ask only because in large letters on the outside of the box it says for outdoor use only.

Looking forward to my first batch of bread from the 'Bradley Proofer',
Captain Canuk

I am not speaking on behalf of the Company but as long as you don't have any wood burning nor any fat in the tower, it should be safe to use the Bradley in the house as a bread proofer as the heat required to proof bread is quite low.  The admonishment to not use the Bradley in the house is to prevent a possible house fire by the Bradley igniting grease in the tower and starting a fire.

This is my personal opinion and in no way relfects the opinion of the good folks at Bradley.

I have mine in the kitchen. I do control it with a pid but only to keep

the temp constant and low. The highest It gets is if I use it as a food

warmer holder and that temp is 150*.

Most of the time it is at around 90*.

My sis liked mine so much she bought a new OBS and a pid

for her bread making.
