Title: Time for some GB jerky
Post by: Sailor on March 28, 2013, 06:30:56 PM
Smoking up a batch of Ground beef 93/7 Jerky.  My favorite mix is Backwoods "Hot".

Used 1/2 cup of water which is less than the package calls for but it works for me.  Mixed just a tad less than 1 tsp of cure 1 and 7.5 TBLS of Backwoods Hot mix in the water then hand mixed.   Will go into the fridge overnight and shoot it in the morning.  Normally 4 pounds of GB gives me 2+ pounds of jerky.  5 pounds really crowds the 4 racks that I have.

All mixed up

Gonna do the strips.  Thought about stuffing them and cutting in patties like what was posted today but I am too lazy to get the stuffer out when I can just jerky shoot them.

These are going USPS to GA.  Daughter called up and sweet talked me into making her a batch.  With you guys building that rig we might have to make some up for you and Hal to keep your strength up  ;D
