Ok get your minds out of the gutter --- Became a KCBS certified judge in February --Judged my first competition this Saturday. I had a good time and looking forward to more.
The funny part is when I first applied to judge this it said it was in Somerville. So I looked up and discovered that Someville AL was about 25 miles from my home. When I got the confirmation a week or so ago I then noticed it was Somerville TN -about 3 - 3 1/2 hrs away, about an hour out of Memphis. While it all worked out in the end, next time I'll read a little closer.
29 more to go and I can apply for master judge.

Spending the weekend in a casino hotel and losing ;D
On the serious side, I think the hardest part is getting a competition to judge if you aren't in a region with a lot of competitions near you. You end up having to travel and that ends up involving hotel, gas, etc. But so far based upon an experience of 1, it is a fun hobby.
