Title: Bacon Bombs
Post by: viper125 on April 19, 2013, 04:04:07 PM
Haven't tried these but new i had to share. This is a regular recipe but i can see where it could be a smoking creation! Hope some one finds it useful. I know Im going to try.

Bacon Bombs:
1 can (8ct.) Pillsbury Grands Flaky
Layers Biscuits
Cubed Mozzarella Cheese (1-1″ cube
per Bomb)
2 lbs. of Bacon (1 slice per Bomb)
Sticks
Oil for frying (I used Canola)
Directions:
Cube up the Cheese, and cut each
Biscuit into fourths. Place one piece of
Cheese inside a Biscuit quarter, and
roll it up in there, nice and tight...
Wrap each rolled Bomb in a slice of
Bacon, and secure it with a skewer or
toothpick...
In a med/large pot, heat up approx.
2″ of Oil (to 350 degrees) and fry them
up in small batches. Maybe one or
two at a time, the oil will expand so
stay close...
Drain them on some Paper Towel, but
serve them up good and warm. YUM!!

When I saw the subject of your thread, I thought you were talking about a different kind of bacon bomb, which is good for camping trips.  Here's how you make the other kind of bacon bomb:  After you fry some bacon, pour the fat in a can and save it.  After dark, set the can in the coals of a fire until the bacon fat melts.  Duct tape another can to a stick.  A really long stick.  Fill the can on the stick with water.  Then pour just a little water onto the melted bacon fat.  fwooosh!!!

Agreed!  That looks like a "Hold my beer, I'm gonna try something" moment. :)

DANG... that looks like fun!  But...

Being (originally) from south of the Mason-Dixon line....
I can't imagine burning up precious, liquid gold, nectar of the Hillbillies "bean sweetener" just for fun...

Couldn't y'all just feed baby sister to the hogs for amusement?   :o

My thoughts also. We guard our bacon grease with shotguns. Greens or green beans wouldnt be worth eating with out bacon grease.
