Title: Please read this before you post a recipe on the recipe site--VERY IMPORTANT
Post by: Oldman on May 14, 2006, 08:30:01 AM
Hey all,
Please do me a BIG FAVOR and do not add any coding to the recipes you post on the recipe site. Especially when they are redundant! Below is a set of redundant codes that I have to manually remove. The Yellow and the Violet  in the first two images are the same codes back to back. This serves no purpose.

These codes only have to be entered one, and not as seen below:

If you must add codes this is the correct way of adding them: This is done by highlighting the whole text and then adding the codes just one time.

Next please do not number your directions. I have to manually remove those numbers as well.

Just use a hard return at the end of each step.

The reason for this is I cannot use the auto numbering option one the boards when I go to code your recipe. If I cannot use that feature then I cannot get the period of your numbered steps to line up with the bullets in your ingredients as shown below.

While I can understand a person wanting to use codes, I hope that everyone will understand why I don't want you to use any codes at all.

Thanks for helping out and understanding as to why.

A lot of it must have been duplicated when the site converted my Word document. Next time I will clear all formatting in Word before posting.

This site automatically clears formatting when a Word document is posted.

Hab,
No problem there. I fully understand. Believe me this is not the first one I have had to clean up.

The coding being left in is one of the down sides of a very powerful board.  You could highlight someone's web page and then past it directly into V-board. It would not only show up images and all, but all of the links would work as well. Of course I would have to allow HTML coding for that thread--so it would show up correctly, but I don't allow public HTML coding for security reasons.

In this one I allowed HTML http://susan.rminor.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29 but I removed the option to allow anyone to post.  At the bottom of the posting is a snap shot of Sauce Bauce web page. The only thing I changed is I'm now hosting the images as his site is now gone.

BTW That is one heck-of a recipe.
