This is sure different and looks like a great technique. I will give it a try, thanks for the post.
Holy smoke!! Can't be that easy! I put up lots of corn every summer and just hate shucking it. Silk everywhere. Thanks for the post!
I've been doing that for several years - works like a charm.
I've been doing it for a while no and we think it's the best corn on the cob ever. It takes about 6 minutes per ear in my nuker and it sits for to long before serving a 2 minute warm up is perfect. Here's a picture of yesterday's ribs with corn done this way.

It works great!! Wife found out about this last year.
Nice! Now all I have to do is find fresh corn on the cob up here. ::) ;D
Better plan a sizable greenhouse for the new property.

You mean what I sent ya a few years ago is all gone? :D
Now that you have the corn out of the husk and no silk. Forget the butter, pour some bacon ranch dressing in a bowl and add some cummin, cayenne pepper and a dash of salt. Brush the mix on the hot ears of corn, for a wonderful flavor. Great addition to your smoked meats. You can use mayo instead, but I prefer the bacon & ranch.

Does the time in the microwave substitute for boiling or does it still require additional cooking?

About the only thing I boil anymore is eggs and not very often even then. lol
Wow! Finally time for sweet corn around here and just tried this method. Works great! I'll be able to put up my yearly supply in probably 1/3 the normal time, shucking and blanching.
