Title: Where can i find a 90 degree power cord?
Post by: Iowabucks on June 04, 2013, 04:10:59 PM
Hey everyone. I'm trying to find where I could get a power cord for my OBS with a 90 degree end to go in the back of the tower. I have a cabinet to use it in that should help in colder temps, but it's not very deep, and a 90 degree plug would give me the extra room I need to fit it in the cabinet.

I am using an Auber Dual probe unit and all the power cords on it are a heavier guage. I also did the extra 500w element mod so i'm guessing maybe the cord I get should be heavier than a computer cable. Maybe I don't need a heavier cable, but common sense tells me I should.

90 degree power cables are pretty common on the internet after searching for them, but I not sure what to look for when I want a heavier cable.

Anybody have any ideas where to find a heavier 90 degree cable?

I found one site that has, or can make, just about any plug you could imagine. Hope it's ok to hotlink.

Neat site. But every time I want to try to look up or make a plug there, I just get more confused.

Mouser Electronics has them also. I've ordered from them in the past with no problems.

Grainger might have the too.

most any electronics store... some stores that carry computers  or large screen tv use the same connections as what you  are looking for

Another source for the type of cord you are looking for is Cyberguys (http://www.cyberguys.com/product-listings/?categoryid=137). I believe all their cords are 14 guage, which will carry up to 15 amps.
