Title: New Guy Here
Post by: Good guy on June 05, 2013, 05:27:32 AM
hello everyone

I am somewhat new to smoking, I have smoked a few things in a small charcoal smoker and now just purchased my 1st Bradley original smoker. I can say after just curing my smoker I will never buy another smoker. the 1st thing I plan on smoking is some salmon.

thanks
Good guy

Welcome aboard and hope you enjoy smoking, there are several people that  smoke fish and my  understanding  is the fish comes out excellent, However i would not  smoke fish until i have smoked a few other items and have some experience with the bradley.

Welcome to the forum from Nebraska.  I agree with Beefmann.  Get you feet wet with a pork butt or even a chicken or two.

Welcome
Jumping into salmon as a first smoke may be a bit aggressive as you will want to soak in a brine first and bring the temp up slow.
My first salmon I used the Bradley recipe and it came out extremelt salty that I couldn't eat.  Changed to Kummok's recipe and use it ever since.
Good luck !!
