Title: Upgraded my smoking
Post by: Angus on June 09, 2013, 06:45:54 PM
Hey all. Just came from a charcoal off setter to a new OBS (bs611). I've seasoned it and it's ready for my first pork sholder.

I'd like to get an Auber PID and do the dual element mod soon.

Thanks for having me and happy smoking to all!

Angus

Welcome Angus!  Let me suggest you get to know your Bradley before you decide you need a PID and the dual element modification.  Do you or do you plan to make your own sausages?

I haven't smoked sausage before but I won't rule anything out. I limited myself to pork ribs and shoulder with my offset because of the amount of work it took.

The OBS looks so easy it isn't fair. The PID is an expensive investment so I'll need to do some more reading before making any decisions.

Depending on which PID you get they are only around $45 if you buy one that you install in a box.  Probably $70-$80 by the time you add in the parts to make it all work.

BTW, welcome aboard.
