Title: Bummer of a day!
Post by: iceman on July 07, 2013, 12:44:53 PM
Got a call at work today from Ann. She let me know that our little four legged man Sir Winston passed away Friday. We had the honor of knowing the handsome man for over fifteen years. Sure going to miss the dude.  :(

Sorry for your loss, they are big part of the family and he looks like he was a magnificent friend, we have a 14 year old Bassett Hound and we know our day is coming when we will have to say goodbye also.

Sorry to hear this, Pat and Ann.  Here's a poem that I usually post when somebody's beloved furry family member passes away.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... "

Aw man, that so sucks.  I know all too well the pain you and Ann must feel.  Nothing else I can say will make you feel any better so I won't presume to try.  Know that Jan and I are thinking of you two.

So sorry to hear that.  That "dog years" stuff really sucks.  My Lab just turned 13 and I'm not looking forward to what you're going through.

I know your pain.  I have three labs now, the oldest is Jake, almost 13 yo.  I will have a hard time when I lose him.  Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Pat and Ann,

My heart really goes out to you. It is a shame that a dog's life is so short to us. We have lost many over the years and it just gets harder as time goes on. I think Linda and I are on our last two.

Sorry for your loss. They are truly mans best friend. Our lab is fifteen now and not feeling well. But he knows how much he has been loved. I know you loved yours the same. Hang in there.

Just got on and saw this.  We have been out camping for the past month.
Pat, it just plain sucks.
Our thoughts are with you and Ann.
June always says that when a dog dies, it leaves paw prints on your heart.
