Title: Beer Can Chicken
Post by: SNIPERS215 on July 08, 2013, 04:00:40 PM
I wanted to try a beer can chicken this weekend. Has anyone tried smoking one for a couple hours , then putting it on the grill to finish ??

I have done it a few times. I only apply 1:40 hours of smoke; at 225°F, then transfer to the grill. I also place the beer can chicken on a metal pie pan (6-inch pie pans if you have them). That makes it more stable when you transfer the chicken from the smoker to the grill. After applying smoke, I remove them from the smoker, place them on a half-sheet pan that I use like a tray, and carry them over to the preheated grill.

Great info on this. I just received my beer can chicken holder.. Now I have a reference on what to do when I'm ready to try this out.
