Title: Grandkids cleaned me out
Post by: Sailor on July 21, 2013, 06:47:39 AM
Watched 2 grandkids Friday and Saturday while Mom & Dad had some needed time alone.  Grandma picked them up at the ball field Friday after practice and brought them home.  First thing they do is go to the garage to see what Grandpa has stashed in his fridge.  The come back in with a pack of my Honey Heat beef stixs.  Can we have some?  Sure, eat all you want......they don't like real spicy stuff!  These have twice as much Cayanne as my regular stixs so I figure a couple of bites and they will be done with them.  The little farts finished the entire pack.  Saturday they polished off another pack and when Mom & Dad show up Saturday to pick them up they march out to the fridge and grab up the remaining 3 packs and said look what Grandpa gave us!

So I have 5 pounds of Honey Heat mixed up this morning

Got them all stuffed

Hanging in the 4 rack Bradley to dry.  Will put 3 hrs of Hickory on them.

Good excuse to make more and it's always good to have happy grandkids, even as an adult my grandmother would always send me home with something home cooked even when I saw her every couple of days and it's those fond memories that I always go back to when thinking about her.

At least you knew about it.  I've gone to my frig (several times) all set for some jerky, sticks or whatever, only to find them mysteriously gone.  Grand kids weren't even here.  BTW nice sticks.

Sailor - Do you mind giving up this recipe? As per your suggestion, I made Penrock's sticks and they were amazing! Thank you! I decided that the next batch I am going to do is either teriyaki sticks or honey...and this post caught my eye  ;) I'd sure like to make this recipe!

Sailor - Nevermind! I saw the recipe posted just a little bit further down from where this thread was. Thanks anyhow!

Have you been sleep snacking?  If you're waking up with little bits of jerky or snack stick stuck between your teeth, that might be a clue.  ;D
