Title: Spring Cleaning
Post by: winemakers on May 23, 2006, 01:14:30 PM
I've just completed two tasks I have to pass along.

1. I received and have begun to read "Smoke and Spice".  Awesome ideas and recipies and a fun read.

2. Spring cleaning of the spice cupboard.  I smelled, touched, and tasted alot of very old tasteless spices and pitched the lot.  A quick trip to the Spice Barn (via internet) and I've got real flavor again.  Old age in spices creeps up the same way it does to my 40+ year old legs. BOOM, no life left.

Maker-of-merlot
I did the same thing when I started smoking, went through the spice cabinet and purchased fresh spices. What a difference! :o

Every spring it's out with the old and in with the new. Most of my spices get used up so there's not a problem with rotating the inventory but you always seem to end up with a few that hang around to long.
